College of the Redwoods

College of the Redwoods, established in 1964, stands as a cornerstone of education across a vast and beautiful stretch of Northern California. The college's journey began with the formation of the Redwoods Community College District in 1964, a testament to the local community's vision for educational opportunities. Its influence steadily grew, expanding its district to include coastal Mendocino County in 1975 and Del Norte County in 1978, solidifying its role as an indispensable regional institution dedicated to serving its diverse communities.

Like many public institutions, College of the Redwoods has demonstrated remarkable resilience, navigating financial challenges following Proposition 13 in 1978 and the Dot-Com Bust.
