Grand Valley State University, affectionately known as GVSU, GV, or Grand Valley, stands as a vibrant public institution in Allendale, Michigan, with a compelling mission: "Educating students to shape their lives, their professions, and their societies." Established in 1960 as Grand Valley State College to meet the growing demand for higher education in the Grand Rapids area, GVSU quickly blossomed.
