University of Central Arkansas

The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) stands as a beacon of academic excellence and opportunity in Conway, Arkansas. Founded in 1907, UCA has a rich history as the state's original normal school, playing a pivotal role in training Arkansas's teachers for generations. Today, it has evolved into a comprehensive public university, empowering nearly 10,000 students to "Go here. Go anywhere."

UCA's journey began as the Arkansas State Normal School, established with the singular purpose of centralizing teacher training. Over the decades, recognizing its expanding academic breadth beyond pedagogy to include liberal arts and health care, the institution transformed. It progressed from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1925, to State College of Arkansas in 1967, finally earning its university status as the University of Central Arkansas in 1975. This evolution showcases UCA's commitment to adapting and growing with the needs of its students and the state.
