White Mountains Community College

White Mountains Community College (WMCC) stands as a vital educational cornerstone in Northern New Hampshire, with a history rooted in dedicated vocational training. Established in the fall of 1966, it began its journey as the Berlin Vocational Institute, quickly becoming the northernmost campus of the New Hampshire Vocational Institute system. This initial focus on practical, career-oriented education set the stage for its enduring commitment to serving the region's workforce needs.

Over the decades, the institution evolved, reflecting broader changes in community college education. It transitioned through several names, from Berlin Vocational Technical College in the 1970s to New Hampshire Community Technical College - Berlin, and briefly New Hampshire Community College - Berlin. This evolution culminated in 2008 when, as part of a statewide renaming initiative, the college proudly adopted its current identity as White Mountains Community College, a name that resonates with its beautiful natural surroundings and regional focus.

WMCC has steadily expanded its reach to serve more students across the White Mountains region. Following its renaming, the college opened a new center in Littleton in 2009, further extending access to higher education and workforce development programs.
